During my time in Bali I spend quite some days in Seminyak, I actually came back, after leaving to another place because I missed it *laught*

I simply loved it there, you can have a relaxed holiday sunbathing at the beach, getting yourself pretty at a spa and go shopping in Seminyak’s amazing stores, or have a more action full day with surfing and partying all night long. Seminyak has it all!

It wasn’t too easy to decide, but here are my top 8 things to do in Seminyak, Bali:

Surfing

Well Bali is generally quite famous for surfing, but in Seminyak it is perfect especially for beginners. Go the the teachers that you can find along the beach, get a class for approximately 8 euro and after that rent a board for 3 euros an hour.  Most of the teachers promise you even that you will stand at least for one time on the board! But if you see, that after all this is not the right sport for you, just go and enjoy a drink at one of the nice beach bars!

Go out for dinner

As touristic as it can be in Seminyak, you will find incredible, delicious places for dinner. If you try the local balinese food, the indonesian specialties or international food, you will find something for every taste.

The area is filled with nice dinner places, not only including delicious food, but also beautiful ambients and perfectly trained and friendly personnel.

Here you can find my favourite dinner places in Seminyak!

Have a “Black Rice Ice Cream”

While you are in Bali you have to try two types of ice cream, one is famous in all Asia, the “Green Tea Ice Cream” and then there is the flavor “Black Rise”. You normally have black rice cooked in coconut-milk and eat it as an dessert here in Indonesia. This doesn’t look really inviting, but is very delicious.

BUT the ice-cream is just WOW ! I came back three times to have a bowl of it in the CharChar Restaurant. I also haven’t seen it anywhere else, so make sure to try it at least once!

Go to La Favela

Wow la Favela… this is the place to start a night out in Seminyak. It is not chic and elegant as most of the places you can find, but the atmosphere is amazing!

Inspired by the Brazilian flair, this bar offers you a huge terrace within the jungle. The entrance goes over a tiny bridge and inside you can see palms and small waterfalls. The people frequenting this place are from every type and especially from every possible country.

This is a place to go to any day of the week, and also if you think everything on the streets is death, this place has still a lot of life in it.

Go shopping on the Jl. Laksamana street

So shopping in Bali is one thing for it, but Seminyak is amazing, if you have the needed cash on you to do so. The market everyone is probably telling you about has poor quality clothing and is not worth a visit in my opinion, but the more are the shops that you can find on the Jl. Laksamana street.

Tiny and mostly not international known brands are here, one next to the other one. One place more stylish and boutique then the other. The price ranges per piece goes mostly around 80-150 euros for the good quality clothing and the great cuts.

Of course you will also find the cheaper one’s within these, but after you have seen all the incredible clothing in the other shops, trust me you will not be impressed by less.

Be sure to bring enough money to do the shopping here, cheap is something else, but the quality and style you can find here is difficult to find any place else for the same price!

Go to one of Seminyaks’ stylish beach clubs

Along the Seminyak beach you can find several beautiful and chic beach clubs, that are attracting the beauty and rich for an expensive stay. But also if you can not afford to spend your holidays in one of these luxurious places, make sure to visit at least one of them for a relaxed day at the pool or a drink in the afternoon! Of course, not to forget a breakfast might also be a charming occasion to spend a little time in one of the charming places.

Here are my top 3 beach clubs in Seminyak.

Watch the sun set

Well there is not a lot to say about this. Every one who loves to watch the sun set should do this at least once in Seminyak, and there are so beautiful places! My favorite ones are KuDeTa; Potato Head and La Plancha.

Go to party

Kuta might still be the home of Bali’s craziest nightlife, but if you want to party in style, Seminyak is the only place to be.

Friday and Saturday night are the best nights to go out, any time of the year. But in the higher seasons you can dance on the beach or have cocktails until late, any night of the week.

Here are my best sparkling party places in Seminyak.

Go to a Spa

And of course, not to be forgotten Bali also has some great Spas to offer. As most of the places are quite expensive and I was at the end of my travels, I must say I did not spend that lot of money on this any more.

The only place that I have tried and that I can actually recommend is the Bee7 Spa. A Balinese Massage for 80.000 Rp is not only incredible cheap, but it was also amazing! I felt like a new person after it. Be aware that if you want to have any of the relatively cheap treatments, to call the day before. All the ingredients used are 100% natural and freshly bought, this means that if you don’t pre advice they won’t have the scrubs prepared for you.

I’m glad I read this post, because we are planning a trip to Bali this year sometime and your list of Seminyak-specifics will come in really handy. Saving it for reference.

Seminyak sounds like a perfect place to relax. I have never heard of Black Rice icecream before, it sounds very intriguing. I would be very happy to just sit there by the beach and enjoy the traditional food. And get a massage at least once 🙂

I’ve had green tea ice cream before but not black rice. Did it taste like rice or more coconut-y?

The sunset at La Plancha was one to my highlights too. Totally loved the atmosphere on the beach. And with the shacks and drinks it was just perfect. Lovely list of things to do in Seminyak.
